IUCA Leads Protest in Dublin Urging Ireland to Defend Uyghur Rights

Community calls on Irish leaders to put human rights before trade deals with China

On February 17, as China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Dublin for high-level meetings, IUCA and members of the Uyghur community held a peaceful demonstration outside the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The protest sent a clear message:
🗣️ Ireland must not remain silent on genocide, forced labour, and human rights abuses against the Uyghur people.

IUCA urged Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris to make human rights a non-negotiable pillar of any diplomatic engagement with China. Silence is complicity.
